2025 – 2026
  • Investigated ground-state properties of one-dimensional Heisenberg spin chains, benchmarking quantum algorithms executed on NISQ hardware against established classical methods.
  • Implemented exact diagonalisation, the density-matrix renormalisation group (DMRG) and quantum Monte Carlo as classical reference methods, alongside a variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) in Qiskit, comparing accuracy and computational cost as a function of chain length.

2023 – 2024
  • Implemented and analysed superdense coding, quantum teleportation, and the Deutsch and Deutsch–Jozsa algorithms in Qiskit, executing each on IBM Quantum hardware.
  • Compared ideal-simulator output with hardware results to characterise the effect of gate errors and decoherence on circuit fidelity.
